The Idea
Ian Fredericks and Nick Acheson, who are both keen boat enthusiasts, have developed the first UK internet auction site Ribs.auction that is solely dedicated to buying and selling RIBs and Outboards.
The idea was conceived during a number of frustrating experiences, that whilst searching existing auction sites any searches always seemed to be full of non-RIB related items and that that the process of buying an expensive RIB or engine did not feel a very secure way of purchasing.
Ian and Nick felt there was better way of doing things and as such Ribs.auction was born !

The Website
The site has been designed as a platform where anyone interested in RIBS can sell or purchase an item quickly and easily. ‘Ribs.auction’ whilst primarily being an auction site, also has the facility for users to list items with a set reserve.
The site is open and welcome to the trade and the public alike and caters for all RIBS and Outboards.

Auctions are held on a monthly basis and run for twelve hours. Items can be listed any time in the lead up to the next auction.
Any items being listed which do not comply with the categories laid down will be removed.
Ribs.auction has utilised the Auction-Pro platform, which is an industry leading specialist platform for online auctions and uses their established web auction and payment system to manage the process.
Trade Sellers & Manufacturers
For the trade customer there is the advantage over other auction sites in that it allows all trade customers that register with ribs.auction to list their entire stock at no cost.
Also, Manufacturers or Trade sellers dealing with selling new ribs can use the site for selling RIBs and Outboards that they may have taken in part exchange and they do not wish to list on their new RIB website.
The Design
Ian & Nick believe that the tablet and mobile friendly design of the website, will make the selling and buying of RIBS and Outboards through their auction platform a pleasant, easy and secure experience.
