If you are thinking of selling or buying a RIB or Outboard, ribs.auction is the site for you as it is the first UK internet auction site that is solely dedicated to the subject.
The site has been designed as a platform where anyone connected with RIBS can sell or purchase an item quickly and easily. ‘Ribs.auction’ whilst primarily being an auction site, also has the facility for users to list items with a Buy it Now price and the ability to set reserves.
Each listing has the capacity for 20 photographs to be uploaded, one video and carries full details of the item. The Ribs.auction search engine allows you to tailor and focus your search for any specific item or enter a broader range of categories. Especially useful should you wish to go online window shopping looking for that item you didn’t know yet that you just can’t do without!
The site provides a standard sales contract for use by Buyer and Seller which clearly sets out the terms and conditions of the transaction and provides legal protection for both parties.
Safe Payments
Potential buyers will be able to send sellers email queries about their listing confidentially through the site. Ribs.auction has been fully developed with Data Protection & GPDR regulations in mind.
The site was also developed with security in mind and all persons selling or buying items must register on the site. The site is available to be browsed without registering but when a bid is placed or an item entered for sale the registration process must take place.
Payment operates through the site with the buyer’s funds being captured and processed through our entirely separate secure client account. Funds are only released when the item has been received or collected by the buyer and they have confirmed that the goods are as advertised by way of the Buyer and seller signing the standard sales contract and both emailing a copy of this (along with a photo of a recognised form of ID to comply with Anti-money Laundering Legislation) to Ribs.auction. In the event that this does not happen then the funds are held and only released 35 days after collection as designated by the period laid out for complaints under the sales of goods Act. Should an issue occur with any transaction an independent investigation will be made by Ribs.auction to resolve the issue.
User Friendly Platform
The site operates a feedback system that enables both buyers and sellers to provide feedback on any transaction.
The site is free to everyone wishing to list any item and operates by charging a buyer’s premium which is collected at the point of sale but only released from the separate secure client account to Ribs.auction upon successful completion of the transaction.
Ribs.auction charges the buyer a buyer's fee of 10% up to a winning bid or buy now value of £20,000. Any amount over £20,000 is charged at 3%. So, if the buyer's winning bid is £25,000, the buyer's fee would be £2,000 over the first £20,000 plus £150 over the £5,000 making it a buyer's fee of £2,150.
